Greetings to all!! My name is Melanie. I've been married to the fabulously geeky Jason for TEN YEARS!!!! :) We claim four goofy children as our own. Two boys-- Noah and Kaden. And two girls-- Mariah and Bridget. Lots of fun and lots of energy!! I run a daycare out of our home and am an aspiring author. Jason owns/operates Distinctly Digital of Kansas-- a business that specializes in electronics and technology-- if you're not sure what Jason does, please ask!!! We are proud to proclaim the Lord Jesus Christ as our God and Savior and endeavor to serve Him well each and every day!! Blessings to you all-- hope you enjoy my blog!!

Mi familia!

My sister, Lisa, hosted a family dinner a couple weeks ago. My Aunt Margaret and Uncle Mike were visiting from North Carolina. It was a great evening!
Such a blessed evening. Wish they could happen more often. Good food, better conversation, and great memories!

Going Zooey!!!

I know everyone thinks I’m crazy, but it really is fun to take all of the kids to the zoo! We always try to go in early June while the weather is still nice.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame!

Ball season has started and our family has caught baseball fever!!! Kaden and Mariah play on the Denison Bears 4-7 year-old co-ed team, and Noah is playing– for the first time– on the 8-11 year-old team! This is exciting since this age group keeps score and there are actual winners and losers.
Mariah is a pretty [...]

Hit the Road, Jack…

This happened a few weeks ago, but Kaden was ECSTATIC to lose his first tooth! He realized it was loose on a Tuesday or Wednesday and by that Friday, he had pulled it! This is a great contrast to big brother, who begrudgingly loses his teeth– it takes Noah months!!! I suspect before too long, [...]

‘A flute without holes, is not a flute. A donut without a hole is a danish!’

That’s a quote by Chevy Chase from Caddyshack… anyway…
In the time since we’ve remodeled our kitchen, I have rediscovered my love of cooking… Jason has discovered it, too! He came home one day with a recipe for homemade donuts. So I decided to give it a shot!
We do not have deep fryer, though I think [...]

A Walk in the Park

I had the opportunity to go with Kaden on his fieldtrip this Spring. So fun! We went to a Stephen Fite Concert at TPAC and then spent the better part of the afternoon at Shawnee Lake. A stop by Sonic for ice cream on the way home made for an excellent day… I love being [...]

He is Risen! He is Risen! He is Risen… FOREVERMORE!!!!

Easter. It ties with Christmas as my favorite holiday! What I love even more is that when I asked my children what Easter was about, the three oldest told me: “It’s about Jesus dying for our sins and rising from the dead 3 days later…” Bridget said: ‘JESUS!!! I love Jesus!’ I was pretty satisfied [...]

Another one bites the dust!

Noah’s gonna have to convince his front teeth to do some growing if he wants to eat corn-on-the-cob this summer!
His other top one is loose and I suspect he’ll lose before too long!

Party at the Woltje House!!!

For those of you who don’t know, Noah and I have back-to-back birthdays, which usually results in one weekend of March being a non-stop party (in some form or another). This year wasn’t any different!
I closed the daycare down and shipped my own kids off for the day on Friday, March 19th. Mom [...]

28 blessings on my 28th birthday

1.   I’m thankful to have been born in the USA. I don’t understand why I was not put somewhere else in this huge world, but I am so thankful that God put me here…
2. I’m so thankful to have been raised in a Christian home. If I had not been, I may not have known [...]
