where to begin???
I can’t believe it’s been so long since I have posted to my blog! To say the least, our family has had lots going on recently… so I’ll start with a recap of the last couple months.
Boy, has it been a long winter! The kids have wanted to go play in the snow– and often did– over the last several weeks, but some of the time it was just too cold! You know it has been a long winter when your nearly 8 year-old says, “I don’t want it to snow anymore! Isn’t is summer yet?”
Thankfully, though, our family has had a very healthy winter and none of us have had to visit the doctor since I threw my back out right before Christmas… hallelujah!
So there are big changes in store for us this year. I’m leading a ‘Victoriously Frazzled’ Bible study for a group of ladies in our church– it is an absolutely fabulous series. Also, I’m attending the ‘Women of Moderation’ study being led by our pastor’s wife on Sunday mornings. I intend to FINALLY reach my weightloss goal this year!! So far I am down 9lbs. in 4 weeks– I am pretty excited! As a couple, Jason and I are attending Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University. We’re very amped up about getting rid of our consumer debt and educating our children about the proper uses of money to ensure that they don’t have to go through the level of financial struggle we have been faced with for the last several years!
More highlights from our year so far include: Bridget graduating from Pull-ups; our sewer line needing to be dug up and repaired, and my attending of Women’s World in Manhattan a couple weeks ago.
In June, Jason and I will celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary! I really do wonder where the time has gone and marvel at how fiercely I love the man God made just for me!
I know the year has many other changes and challenges and blessings in store for us. I used to cling to the blessings, fear the challenges, and fight the changes, but in the time since Jason has launched his electronics business, I have learned to trust the Lord in ways I would have never guessed! And I cling to Romans 8:28 which tells us that God uses all things to work together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose– an awesome promise, to be sure! And that’s only the beginning…
